Bared to You – Review

Wow! What a quick and easy read. I sat down for an exciting Friday night in and read this baby cover to cover. It was one of those reads that had a relaxed flow. I’m not normally a romance reader, but this book was recommended to me, and I wanted to give it a chance.

This story is about an almost forced relationship between your average girl, Eva and Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome, Gideon. Gideon and Eva seem to bump into each other every time they blink. It quickly turns steamy and almost a little too intense at times.  Eva is about to pursue a new career and take charge as a postgraduate in the big city. She is ready to be an adult and take control of her life in order to forget about her seedy past. Gideon, who just happens to own half of the city – including the building of her new job, some what verbally forces his desires every chance he can get. It almost seems to get in the way of the life Eva pictured for herself. I guess the heart wants what it wants.

I enjoy a good love story, but I also like good story plot and this just seemed to be the run of the mill story and a little forced. The whole time reading this, although I did enjoy it for the most part, it reminded me of 50 Shades. It was never taken to that level of sexual intensity, but still felt to similar. Where the main characters definitely had sexual chemistry, the lacking of feelings and compatibility was lost. I did enjoy the main character Eva, which is probably why I read the book so quickly. I was constantly rooting for her to do what she wanted and stick up for herself, with or without a love interest.

I’m not running out to get the second book, but will read it eventually. (THREE ½ Stars.)
