How can one person possibly visit every single Instagram worthy spot? Clearly, I won’t be able to in my lifetime. Will that stop me from trying? No!
I have had the privilege of visiting many of this country’s most beautiful spots. I still have thousands to go, but felt the need to share with you where I have been so far!
Here are my top seven favorite, Instagram Worthy, spots; in no particular order. I even threw in a few honorable mentions, in case you get hit with the travel bug.
San Francisco, California
My first time ever visiting the West Coast started in San Francisco, California. My sister just happened to be living in San Jose at the time. We figured it would be the perfect little getaway; plus the savings in lodging helped push the decision to fly across the country.
First, we hit all the tourist spots. We visited Alcatraz, Lombard & Russel Street, Ghiradelli Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, you name it.
Second, we ate in Chinatown, rode the troll, and did every single thing the book says to do. Call me a tourist, but nothing beats the most iconic tourist spot of them all, the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lucky for us, being there with someone who had knowledge of the area, we were able to hit the perfect tourist photography spots from multiple angles. Talk about an Instagrammers dream. In conclusion, I always recommend San Francisco to all my blogger babes. Despite the constant fog, when the timing lines up, you can get the perfect Instagram worthy shot.
Rockport, Massachusetts
Massachusetts was my home away from home for many years. I was lucky enough to live in the outskirts of Boston during my college years. Boston and Massachusetts in general will always hold a special place in my heart. My family and I spent many summers on the North and South shores, soaking in the fun, catching Red Sox games, enjoying concerts, and road tripping all through New England.
Above all, Newburyport & Rockport are two of my all time favorite spots in Massachusetts. For instance, these tiny summer towns are what sailors, fresh fish lovers, and prepsters dream about at night.
Every time I visit girlfriends from college, we always make these two places a point of destination. Can’t you understand why?
Antelope Canyon, Arizona
Believe it or not, but Antelope Canyon was a place I dreamed of visiting for most of my life. Yes, even before the infamous “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman” Britney Spears music video. Okay, maybe Britney had a little to do with this dream, but none the less, I made this dream destination happen.
We went on one of the most amazing, education, and intuitive tours I’ve ever been on. Calling all history lovers that enjoy gorgeous Instagram worthy shots; this stop is for you. Antelope Slot Canyon Tours was DEFINITELY the way to go. Not only did our tour guide give us the ins and outs on every tiny detail, he even helped each group stage the perfect photos based on the lighting in the caves and down the tunnels.
Think about it, these tour guides probably reel off the same information all day long, constantly deal with the unhappy people of the world, and work in extremely hot temperatures. Our tour guide went above and beyond for the love of these lands. He also just happened to be a photography aficionado with a passion for taking beautiful nature shots. I will never forget about this experience and his kindness.
Monkton, Maryland
It’s not secret that I love my Maryland. Yes, I call her my Maryland. Born and raised, smack dab between Baltimore City and Horse Country. I have never considered myself a city girl, a country girl, or a suburbs girls. What do they even call garden, forest and woods lovers? Who needs labels anyways.
There lives a secret place in Harford County, Maryland called Monkton. Monkton has a mix of all my favorites; topiary gardens, hiking trails as far as the eye can see, and rivers large enough to satisfy all your water baby dreams.
This is a gem of a town, and I am proud to share this with you. Why keep this baby a secret when I can share it with the world. Charm and character make up the hometown of my dreams.
Any given weekend that Jeff and I are not checking items off our 2020 Summer Bucket List, you can find me soaking in the little pleasures Monkton, Maryland gives us.
Favorite Spots: Ladew Topiary Gardens, The NCR Trail, Inverness Brewing, My Lady’s Manor, Gunpowder River.
Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah
Without showing too much favoritism, let’s just pretend this famous spot is just a “little bit” more spectacular than the rest of the places on this list. It’s hard to lie, because Monument Valley, Utah is one of the most breath-taking visions I have ever seen. And honestly, while we’re at it, you should know that the history behind these grounds is what makes these Navajo Nation sacred lands so special.
Ever since stepping foot on Oljato- Monument Valley, I have made it one of my missions in life to educate myself on Indigenous history, teachings, and ways I can fight for this cause. So much was stolen from this culture and it shouldn’t go without the history and knowledge being at the forefront.
Yes, this is a beyond stunning landscape. Yes, Monument Valley is on my pretentious list of favorite Instagram worthy spots. With that being said, I have done my homework. I have done my research. Fighting for human rights and the promotion of saving Ingenious lands are something I take very serious.
Above all, please don’t stop visiting this euphoric, out of a dream, history rich landscape. Continue to visit, take many pictures, and share the history and knowledge you learn along the way.
Pebble Beach, California
Calling all California dreamers. Pebble Beach & Monterey, California are even more beautiful than the pictures. Photographs and videos don’t do the eyes justice. God gave us a gift with this 17+ mile strip of sandy beaches and shoreline.
Most importantly, Pebble Beach is home to the most stunning and famous golf course. During one of my few trips to the West Coast, my parents surprised Jeff and I with tickets to that years Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tournament. Not only was it an amazing, charity-filled day of golf, but we were lucky enough to walk the 18th hole fairway and enjoy the sunset from the tee box. If you’re a golf fan, you’ll understand how swoon worthy and amazing that opportunity was.
Tone deaf Sarah wishes that she knew more about photography when this spectacular, once in a lifetime event took place. However, the pictures are still worth a million bucks to me and the memories will forever live in my heart.
Horseshoe Bend, Arizona
This Arizona horseshoe-shaped meandered-like piece of the Colorado River lives right down the street from Page. You take a mini 1.5 mile round trip trail off the highway to see this beautiful landmark. We showed up just as the sun was about to set, and let me tell you, the emotions were flowing. The mini hike took you right up to the cliff side and we sat and took in the beauty that was below us. Another Insta & Social Media favorite spot.
Anyways, I can’t even begin to tell you how beautiful this place was. You basically have to see it yourself to actually grasp the type of scenery I’m talking about. STUNNING!!!!!
As the sun set, we took a bunch of family photos and really just appreciated life and these amazing moments together as a family. If you are ever in the Northern Arizona area, please do yourself a favor and make this a stop on your route. You wont be sorry!
